PRESBYTERIAN WOMEN

Membership in the Presbyterian Women of Barbecue Church (P/W) is open to all “women” in the Congregation who wish to participate in their activities. You do not need to be a member of the church. During the months of October, December, February, May and September, we meet at the Church at second Sunday,12:00 PM after worship. All meetings include a bible study Session, a Business Meeting and discussion of current and proposed projects.

The P/W have Bylaws and are governed by a BPC Coordinating Team (C.T.) consisting of the Officers, Circle Moderators, Chair of Search and Missions Committee and the Historian. The P/W of BPC work under the direction of the Presbytery of Coastal Carolina and the Synod of the Mid-Atlantic of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.)

In addition to a monthly Bible Study, some projects include coordinating the annual Harvest Festival and Quilt Raffle, along with sponsoring wedding and baby showers, and other Outreach and Mission projects. We welcome the women in the congregation, especially the younger women, to join us as we work to build a community of caring women through prayer and Bible Study.

PRESBYTERIAN MEN

Membership in The Men of the Church is open to all male members of any age in our Barbecue Church Family.  The primary purpose of this group is to foster fellowship and share God’s message with those that attend.

This is accomplished through a monthly meeting held the 3rd Sunday of every month starting at 8:00 AM and usually lasting about an hour, in the Fellowship Hall.  Men usually come a little early for standing- around fellowship (the chefs come about an hour earlier).  Then shortly after 8:00 AM these chefs serve a delicious breakfast of scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, grits biscuits and coffee (there is no charge, just a good will offering basket left out by the serving counter).  Armed with a plate of breakfast goodies, the men sit down at table and after grace, dig in and discuss topics ranging from upcoming church activities, to current events and politics, to anything and everything in the world of sports.  Everybody is encouraged to participate!

The Men of the Church support a Dominican Republic Orphanage through donations as well as our annual Harvest Festival through purchase of the meat for the Barbecue.  The Men also host a breakfast for the Congregation following the early Easter Sunday Service on Easter Day.

We welcome all men in our Barbecue Church Family as we foster fellowship and a connectedness among all of those in attendance.  For more information you can contact Greg Street, the current President of the Presbyterian Men, at (919) 499-7673.

OUTREACH FOOD PANTRY

The Outreach Food Pantry distributes food the third Tuesday morning from 10:00 am until 11:00 am of each month.  Please continue to support this mission by bringing food.

If you would like to help with distribution please arrive to the Fellowship Hall between 9 and 9:30 am.
